Pangkalpinang, Babel, June 21 (Antara) - President Joko Widodo handed over welfare cards to 33 representatives of the card recipients in Tua Tunu village, Gerunggan Subdistrict, Bangka Belitung (Babel) Province on Sunday.

The types of cards distributed by the President were Social Assistance Cards for Disabled, Indonesia Smart Card (KIP), Indonesia Health Card (KIS) and Prosperous Family Card (KKS).

"Holders of KIP cards will receive Rp450 thousand for elementary school (SD) students, Rp750 thousand for lower secondary school (SMP) students and Rp1 million for upper secondary school (SMA/SMK) students," Jokowi, as the president is popularly called, said.

Jokowi said that the money that students had received from the KIP cards should be used for school need such as for buying shoes, uniforms and textbooks.

"The money should not be used for other purposes. If it is used for other purposes, the cards will be withdrawn," he added.

On the occasion, the President also provided bicycles for five welfare cards recipients.

On the occasion, the President also made an observation tour of a smelter factory of PT TinindoInternusa in Ketapang.
