Jakarta (Antara Babel) - A Batik Air aircraft collided with a Transnusa plane at 19.55pm while preparing to take off at Jakarta's Halim Perdanakusuma airport on Monday, the ministry of transportation stated.
"When Batik Air flight was about to take off, a Transnusa plane was found to be on the same runway and was being towed towards the hangar," the office's head of communication and public information, Barata, said.
He said the Transnusa ATR PK-TNJ aircraft collided with Batik Air Boeing 737-800 PK-LBS servicing the HLP-UPG (Ujungpandang) route.
He said the ATR suffered damage on its tail and left wing while the Batik Air plane suffered damage on the tip of its left wing.
"No fatalities were reported in the incident. All passengers and crew were evacuated safely," he said.
Halim Perdanakusuma remained temporarily closed due to the incident till about 22.00pm to allow the evacuation process.
