Jakarta (Antara Babel) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) attended an iftar dinner on the occasion of Ramadhan held by the family of Aburizal Bakrie, the chairman of the board of patrons of Golkar party at Hotel Shangri-La here on Sunday.
He was personally welcomed by Aburizal Bakrie upon arrival at the hotel at around 17.10pm.
Aburizal also invited a number of national figures including former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
Also seen at the event were General chairman of Golkar Party, Setya Novanto, House Speaker Ade Komaruddin who is also a Golkar Party figure and businessman Chairul Tanjung.
President Jokowi attended the event out of his official schedule. The chief of the presidential press bureau, Bey Machmudin, said when asked for confirmation about it that it was indeed an internal agenda of the president.
Golkar Party, which is one of the biggest and oldest political parties in the country, has recently declared support to the government.
After the dinner President Jokowi attended the launch of a book written by Sidarto Danusubroto, a member of the president's advisory board at Soehana Hall Energy Building at Senayan Central Business District in South Jakarta.
