"The tourism areas mainly consist of beaches as the flagship of the region," the Head of Tourism, Youth, and Sport Service of Bangka District, Asep Setiawan, stated here on Saturday.
According to Setiawan, several tourism sites, such as Romodong Beach, Penyusuk Beach, and Batu Dinding Beach, are located in Belinyu Sub-district.
Some tourism spots located in Sungailiat Sub-district include Tanjung Pesona Beach, Parai Tenggiri Beach, Matras Beach, Tongaci Beach, and Tikus Emas Beach, as well as the religious tourism area of Puri Tri Agung Hermitage.
"Many visitors are local tourists. The foreign tourists visit the sites during specific seasons," Setiawan revealed.
Additionally, Setiawan noted that there are certain challenges faced for providing services, such as lack of development funds and land disputes, in order to develop the tourism destinations.
He added that some people have also invested in the tourism sites to develop them.
"We hope the local people and investors improve the quality of their service to increase the number of visitors," Setiawan remarked.
Bangka Island is also well-known for its beautiful beaches, such as Rambak Beach, Pukan Beach, and Air Anyir Beach.
