Sungailiat, Bangka Belitung Island (Antaranews Babel) - The Youth and Sports Tourism Office of Bangka District, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, confirmed that 15 countries will participate in the Sungailiat Triathlon 2018 on Saturday, (Apr 21).
"We have already made 95 percent of the preparations in terms of improving roads, especially hollow and sandy ones, to be traversed by athletes," Head of the Department of Youth and Sports Tourism Office of Bangka District Asep Setiawan noted here on Saturday.
He stated that the roads are being improved and cleaned to ensure the smooth and safe implementation of the event for the participants.
Setiawan expressed hope that through the Sungailiat Triathlon, the people can promote Bangka Belitung Islands Province across the world and help to boost tourist visits to the province.
According to Setiawan, Sungailiat Triathlon will start from the Pesona Sungailiat Cape, with the route passing through Sungailiat City from the Jelitik area, Jendral Sudirman Street, Rebo, Lintas Timur and finish at the Pesona Sungailiat Cape.
Task Executor of Head of Bangka District Rustamsyah has invited all local government committees and organizations to ensure the successful implementation of the Sungailiat Triathlon event.
"All parties, especially the Public Works Department, must be involved to immediately repair and prepare the roads to be passed by the participants," he added.
He further remarked that all parties must offer the best services, so that participants of the Sungailiat Traithlon feel comfortable and secure during the event.
The Environment Office and all agencies, along with the local people, are conducting voluntary work to clean the roads to be passed by the participants of the Sungailiat Triathlon.
Sungailiat Triathlon 2018 is a race organized by the Youth and Sports Tourism Office of Bangka District, while the event features swimming, biking, and running. People can register online on the website of http://www.regnowonline.com.
