Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung (Antaranews Babel) - Pangkalpinang police have arrested two drug traffickers in this provincial city.
Aldo (19) and Fitriansyah (37) were nabbed on Thursday when trying to sell methamphetamine at Jalan Pesantren Manba'ul Ulum Kelurahan Tua Tunu Indah, Pangkalpinang," Chief of Staff of City Narcotics unit Adj. Com. Rudolf Sitorus said here on Monday.
Fitriansyah once served five years in jail for drug case and he was freed only earlier this year, Rudolf said.
He said police seized 75,17 grams of methamphetamine from Aldo when he was arrested.
"From the hands of Fitriansyah, we confiscated 148.6 grams of the same type of drug, a hand phone and a motorcycle," he said.
He said Fitriansyah was already in the police watch list for allegedly supplying methamphetamine to a drug suspect Fren, whho was arrested earlier this month.
Fitriansyah told his investigators he received the drug from a man identified by his initial K from Batam and said he paid Rp10 million for the drug.
Earlier report said from Medan, North Sumatra, police nabbed two women carrying 506 grams of methamphetamine at the International Airport of Kuala Namu.
Deli Serdang police chief Adj. Sr.Com Eddy Suryantha Tarigan said the two women identified as NW (22) from the village of Jaya Abadi, district of Bireuen, Aceh, and ES (33) from the village of Timu, also in the district of Bireuen were picked by police from the airport terminal waiting room after receiving report about the two suspicious housewives.
The two suspects told police that the drug belonged to a man identified as Abang and they were paid to hand over the drug to someone in Banjarmasin.
Last month, two other women from Aceh were arrested at the airport terminal found carrying 198.5 grams of methamphetamine.
Last week police in Lampung Utara foiled an attempt to bring in 4.57 grams of methamphetamine to the Kotabumi prison involving a police officer (AS) and two convicts Rudi Irawan (27), and Eko Oktavianus (30).
Head of the drug unit of the Lampung Utara police First Inspector Andri Gustami police acted after receiving report that there would be drug deal at the prison.
