Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung, Oct 25 (ANTARA Babel) - PT Timah Persero Tbk (TINS), the state tin mining company in Indonesia, began to implement its company slogan; "go offshore, go deeper" by launching its new exploration drilling ship called; the exploration drilling ship Geotin 3, Wednesday afternoon (October 24).
    The new exploration drilling ship designed ​​by PT DAK and Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia. Meanwhile the drilling machine was built by PT Timah Eksplomin with constructive advice of the Dutch Shipyard; Conrad.
    The counter flush drilling system is capable to drill to a depth of 100 meters in the seabed, with a waterdepth of 35 meters.
    "These exploration drillings for tin mineral on large depths in the seabed are done in anticipation of increasingly larger dredging vessels to mine the deeper deposits of tin mineral, so with this new drilling ship, all will be in balance," said the president director of PT Timah, Sukrisno.
    Furthermore, Sukrisno stated, this new drilling ship will be one of PT Timah's the deep-sea exploration fleet strength to get more of tin reserves.
    "Prior to the operation of the exploration drilling ship Geotin 3, offshore exploration is done by relying on drilling ship Geotin 1 and 2, with this new ship, the company has had a special two drill ships to find reserves in the deep ocean, and the Drill Ship Geotin 1 will be more function to search for reserves in water depths less than 30 meters with the ability to effectively penetrate up to 55 meters depth," he said.
    This new ship is planned to be operated in waters of Bangka and Kundur which are expected to still have a new reserves tin sand.
    The budget funds for the manufacture of Drill Ships Geotin 3 is IDR38 billion with IDR 37,1 billion of realization. Ship was built in the mid of 2011.
