Jakarta (Antara Babel) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is the country's most attractive leader after the country launched reform movement 17 years ago, the chairman of the Committee commemorating the 17th year of the national reform said.
"After the fall 17 years ago of President Suharto, Indonesia already changed its president from Habibie to Gusdur, Megawati and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and now to Jokowi, but he (Jokowi) is the most attractive," Hendrik Sirait said after the ceremony at the Proclamation Monument Park here on Thursday.
Jokowi is the only leader not burdened with the sins of the past mainly human right violation, and he is clean of corruption, Hendrik said.
"It will be a big asset for him to carry on the reform movement to a perfect end to form a clean and democratic government to bring about social justice in the country," he said.
Joko Widodo is the product of the reform movement launched 17 years ago, directly selected by the people , he added.
"Without reform that has brought about direct election system , it is impossible a leader like Jokowi emerging under a mechanism of a fair election," he said.
He said the commemoration at the Proclamation Monument Park was expected to revive the spirit of reform that ended the era of dictatorial administration.
