Koba (Antara Babel) - The District of  Bangka Tengah of the Bangka Belitung province plans to build a 30-kilometer long ring road that could be used by heavy trucks.

"The ring road would link the village of Nibung, in the sub-district of  Koba  and the the sub-district of Namang,"head of the district public works office Hassan Basri said here on Wednesday.

Hassan  said the ring road is a multi year project with construction to start in 2018 financed with fund from the district development budget.

"This a big project  that could not be finished in a year. It would take several years  and would cost big money," he added.

It will be 9 meter wide but with open land of 50 meters as it is a long term project prepared for  a two lane highway , he said.

He said the project has long been  in the plan to forestall congestion in the road.

"In early 2018 barring any unexpected problem, work would start over forest land that would not run through people's settlement," he said.
