The Provincial Government of the Bangka Belitung Islands immediately closed all sea entrances, in order to break the chain of distribution of COVID-19 ahead of the Idul Fitri homecoming.

"God willing, tomorrow, red-Thursday (4/23) I order the Transportation Office to immediately close all ports of the port for traffic except for goods," said the Governor of the Babel Islands, Erzaldi Rosman Djohan in Pangkalpinang, Wednesday.

He said the policy to close the traffic of people at the Ports of Tanjung You, Pangkalbalam, Tanjung Gudang Belinyu, Tanjung Pandan Belitung and other ports was based on the decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo issued a ban on Lebaran going home to prevent and break the chain of COVID-19 distribution.

"This presidential decree must be carried out by us, so all port entrances are closed to traffic of people, especially travelers from the red zone," he said.

According to him the policy of closing the port for this person's traffic was to break the chain of the spread of corona virus from the red zone.

"This is an effort to break the chain of the spread of the corona virus, because travelers who continue to arrive have the potential to carry and spread this dangerous virus in their hometown," he said.

He asked the TNI and Polri to guard all entrances, including the entrance of the rat lane, because Babylon is an island area with many rat lane doors.

"We ask the police and military to tighten the entrance of this sea lane, so that the corona virus can be cut off and not spread in this area," he said.

"The issue of the homecoming ban is, of course, the command line, what has been directed by the National Police Headquarters and Korlantas and our actions towards people who are still going home are still being examined steps that must be taken by the police," he said.
