Pangkalinang, Bangka Belitung (Antara Babel) - The Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Administration invites Thai investors to invest in agricultural and plantation technology in order to improve welfare of the local farmers.
"We will promote investment potential of agriculture and plantation to Thailand at the 24th Ministerial Meeting of Indonesia Malaysia Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT)," Head of Provincial Economy Bureau, Sudarman, said here, Wednesday.
Thailand is quite advanced in agricultural and plantations technologies, and therefore the investors can assist the provincial administration in achieving self-sufficiency in food and meat for the people, he added.
The provincial administration will also offer investment of plantation processing for white pepper, rubber and palm oil into products, to promote the local economy and create new jobs for the people, Sudarman said.
"During this time white pepper is marketed to various destinations without further processes, while this agricultural products can be processed into perfume and medicines," he said.
We will do convince Thai entrepreneurs to develop and improve agricultural and plantations products in this area, Sudarman added.
