Jakarta (Antara Babel) - Gerindra Party presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto claimed that his camp has already presented thousands of witnesses who are victims of fraud carried out by election administrators on the polling day of the 2014 presidential election.
"Actually, we can present thousands of witnesses, and I have asked the witnesses to give a written testimony and also testify through video. If it is not accepted by the council (MK), this should be a lesson for Indonesia," Prabowo Subianto stated during the hearing of the first election result dispute (PHPU) in the Constitutional Court.
Prabowo pointed out that one of the witnesses, a mother, claimed to be intimidated by an officer at a polling station (TPS) in Bendungan Hilir, Central Jakarta.
"There is one mother who came to the polling station and was asked by the officer regarding whom she wanted to vote for, the number one or number two. As soon as she said number one, she was not allowed to vote. The mother is still alive in Bendungan Hilir," he noted.
Prabowo attended the hearing of the PHPU in the Constitutional Court on Wednesday, accompanied by vice presidential candidate Hatta Rajasa and several prominent members of the Red and White Coalition such as Amien Rais, Akbar Tanjung, Aburizal Bakrie, and Anis Matta.
The legal team of the Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa pair submitted a complaint regarding two decrees (SK) issued by the General Elections Commission on July 22, which are the Decree 355/Kpts/KPU 2014 on the Determination of Recapitulation Results of Vote Counting and Presidential Election and the Decree 356/Kpts/KPU 2014 about the determination of the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair.
From the defendant's side, the trial was attended by the Chairman of General Elections Commission Husni Kamil Manik, Commissioner Hadar Nafis Gumay, Ida Budhiati, Jury Ardiantoro, Ferry Kurnia Rizkiyansyah, and Arief Budiman.
Meanwhile, witnesses Nasrullah, Nelson Simanjuntak, and Daniel Zuchron from the Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) were presented in the Constitutional Court.
The panel of judges was chaired by Hamdan Zoelva with members Arief Hidayat, Patrialis Akbar, Maria Farida, Fadlil Sumadi, Muhammad Alim, Anwar Usman, Aswanto, and Wahiduddin Adams.
"The agenda of the first trial session for the election dispute case at the Constitutional Court (MK) is hearing the testimonies of the applicant. According to the provisions of the Act, the court is obliged to advise correction," Hamdan remarked.
