Koba (Antara Babel) - The  Corruption Eradication Commission  (KPK) said 180 officials of regional administration have been involved in corruption  causing big losses in state fund.

"Data until June 2015 showed 14 governors, 48 district heads,  and 118 senior officials were implicated in corruption cases, Research and Development Director of KPK Dedi Hartono said here on Tuesday.

The condition is alarming, therefore, the government needs to be more serious in the efforts to prevent and eradicate corruption in the country, Dedi said.

"It is impossible to commit corruption by a single individual, therefore, control and management system of regional budget  must be effective and transparent to create a clean  and accountable government," he said.

Corruption caused big social cost , therefore, the role of regional administrations is important to develop cultural integrity, he added.

He said KPK cooperates with the government financial watchdog BPKP  and inspectorates in carrying out accountable control  and  management of regional budget.

"We assume supervision activities in all 32 provinces of Indonesia," he said.
