Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung (Antara Babel) - The administration of Bangka Belitung province is building an integrated tourist site at Pasir Padi Bay, spread over an area of 21 hectares, in order to attract a larger number of tourists.

"We hope the integrated tourist area of Pasir Padi Bay becomes one of the most favorite tourist destinations in Pangkalpinang," the Governor of Bangka Belitung Islands, Rustam Effendi, said here on Monday.

He explained that the Pasir Padi Bay integrated tourist site is being built in Pasir Padi Beach in Pangkalpinang city, one of the most interesting attractions in Bangka Island.

"Pasir Padi Bay integrated tourist site will attract more tourists to visit the province, especially the Bangka Island," he said.

The governor informed that several infrastructure facilities will be built in Pasir Padi Bay, including hotels, restaurants, outbound arena, bird park, playground, as well as other tourist facilities which can facilitate local, national and international tourists.

"We are optimistic that the construction of Pasir Padi Bay can bring in at least 500 thousand foreign tourists, besides domestic tourists," he said.

Rustam hoped Pasir Padi Bay will impact other sectors, such as travel and transportation services, as well as restaurants serving typical foods of Bangka Belitung.
