Tanjung Pandan, Belitung (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province does not want to be hasty in determining the name to be carried as a candidate for the Governor of Bangka Belitung in the upcoming 2024 Pilkada. "Still waiting, we can't comment much yet," said the Chairman of the PDI-P Bangka Belitung DPD, Didit Srigusjaya on the sidelines of the PDIP Bangka Belitung Regional Work Meeting III in Tanjung Pandan, Belitung, Wednesday. According to him, his party has not been able to comment much on the 2024 Pilkada for the mayor, regent and governor elections. "Because the benchmark for nominating pairs of candidates must be 20 percent of the results of the 2024 General Election. How do we want to talk about that while the requirements do not exist, in contrast to the presidential election referring to the results of the 2019 election," he said. However, Didit continued, in the context of the nomination for the regional head of the PDIP Perjuangan Bangka Belitung, it is very open to anyone, both internal party cadres and party external parties. He mentioned that there were a number of names that the PDI-P could carry as a candidate for governor of Bangka Belitung who came from internal party circles such as Rustam Effendi, Rudianto Tjen, Mulkan and Maulan Aklil.
Meanwhile, from external circles there were Sahani Saleh, Hidayat Arsani, Ridwan Djamaluddin, and Darmansyah Husein.
"The names outside the party, all of us look at," he said.
Didit did not deny that from these names there were several people who had established communication with PDIP Bangka Belitung.
"If there are no specific ones to be nominated, we will nominate them but suddenly the requirements don't match, so our target is to get the tickets first," he said.
He targets that in the 2024 Regional Head Elections, the PDI-P can win three elections at once, including the presidential, legislative and regional head elections.
"We don't want to repeat the failure for the umpteenth time, so now we have formed a party wing to win the votes of floating voters, mainly from the younger generation," he said.
