Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) respects constructive public inputs and the net positive public approval ratings of his decade-long presidency that persist near the end of his term, according to Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana.
"The president appreciated public assessment and evaluations of his 10-year leadership, including those indicated by recently published public survey reports," he stated in his written remarks here on Saturday.
Dwipayana highlighted a survey conducted by Indikator Politik Indonesia survey agency, which showed that the public approval rate for President Joko Widodo is 75 percent.
Jokowi expressed gratitude to residents for the high approval rate, he said, adding that it motivated the president to continue his work and ensure the smoothness of the government transition.
The president is also upbeat that his successor, Prabowo Subianto, will be mindful of public inputs and evaluations to help him formulate new policies and improve ongoing programs during his upcoming leadership.
"Because the spirit of the incoming presidency of Prabowo Subianto is continuity from the current government," Dwipayana stated.
He further highlighted the president's current practice of personally expressing gratitude and seeking forgiveness during his interactions with the public.
"This direct approach reflects the importance of support from the people, especially at the grassroots, for the president and the government to resolve challenges in decade-long leadership," he stated.
Dwipayana also affirmed that the president would continue his business as usual, including visiting residents across the country at the border and in remote areas.
The president's working visits aim to ensure national priority programs are carried out properly in the last month of his term for the benefit of the people, he remarked.
