London (Antara Babel) - Indonesia's Consulate General, Istanbul, invited Islamic fashion experts and Turkey's largest Muslim online fashion store Modanisa.com as speakers at the Global Modest Istanbul Fashion Gate of Indonesia at the Muslim Fashion Festival 2017 (Muffest).
The Turkish Muslim fashion experts are Ozlem Sahin from Think Fashion Turkey; Ahmet Erdem, the purchasing director of Modanisa.com; and Franka Soeria, an Indonesian expert in Islamic fashion living in Turkey, according to a statement from the Indonesian Consul General in Istanbul Herry Sudradjat received by Antara here, Wednesday.
Sudradjat is optimistic that the Muffest 2107, being held in Jakarta on Apr 6-9, would provide an overview to Indonesian Muslim fashion designers about the preferred Islamic fashion trends in Turkey and the other countries, with the hope that the work of these designers would be accepted in the markets.
Sudradjat said that in order to become the center of global Islamic fashion, Indonesian Muslim fashion products should be able to penetrate overseas markets.
A report from Thomson Reuters for 2015-2016 revealed that Turkey spends US$24.84 billion per year on Muslim fashion products.
Meanwhile, according to the State of the Global Economy Report for 2015-2016, people in Muslim countries spend about $230 billion on clothes, and this figure is expected to grow to around $327 billion by 2019.
The presence of the purchasing director of Modanisa.com at Muffest is expected to pave the way for Indonesian Muslim fashion designers to cooperate with the online store in marketing their products in Turkey and other countries.
Modanisa Online Stores was founded by Kerim Ture in 2012. It has been successfully marketing Muslim fashion products in 60 countries and has become a market place for 200 Muslim fashion brands.
Modanisa.com receives 4.5 million visitors per month and serves approximately 100 million customers from 105 countries every year.
