Raja Ampat Papua (Antaranews Babel) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has made assurance that Bali is safe for tourist visits.
"Bali is safe for the year-end holidays, so there should be no misperception (that Bali is not safe) due to the eruption of Mount Agung, as (most of Bali's tourist destinations) are far from Mount Agung," the president informed the media after leading an event to commemorate National Mothers' Day here, Friday.
The government will hold a limited cabinet meeting on the resort island to demonstrate that the condition in Bali is back to normal.
"The meeting will discuss Mt Agung and economic affairs," he revealed.
On Dec 8, the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) had announced that Bali Island on the whole is safe for visitors.
"Please visit or spend a holiday in Bali. There should be no fear or worries. Tourist destinations in Bali, such as Tanah Lot, Sanur, Pandawa Beach, Mount Batur, Ubud, Kuta Beach, Padang-Padang Beach, Lovina, Dream Land, and Nusa Dua, are safe," the BNPB noted in a statement posted on https://bnpb.go.id/gunung-agung-erupsi-sesaat-bali-tetap-aman.
The danger zone due to Mount Agung's eruption is only within a radius of eight kilometers and an extension of 10 kilometers in the north-northeast and southeast-south-southwest directions from the mountain's peak.
