Koba (Antara Babel) - Bangka Tengah District Head Erzaldi Rosman said operation of tin mining company PT Koba Tin would be handed over a state company.
Erzaldi said the tin mining company, which has stopped operation in the past several years should be put into function again that it could contribute to the regional economy.
"We are awaiting a decision of the central government," the regent said , adding that district administrations should be given the majority 80 percent stake in the company.
He said state tin mining company PT Timah in cooperation with companies owned by regional administrations (BUMDs) should take over PT Koba Tin.
"Bangka Selatan has a BUMD, Bangka Tengah also has one . PT Timah could negotiate with the BUMDs on share split and value," he said.
He said he wanted PT Koba Tin to be handed over to state company and BUMDs that tin mining in the province of Bangka Belitung could be handled efficiently.
Bangka Tengah police chief Adj. Sr. Comr M Zainul said a solution should be fund to settle conflict in tin mining in Bangka Tengah .
Zainul said the plan of PT Timah and BUMDs to take over PT Koba Tin is the best solution to tin mining dispute in the region.
Bangkla Belitung is the largest tin producing province in Indonesia, which is one of the world's largest tin producers.
