Jakarta (Antara Babel) - Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto does not regard the Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla pair as an enemy but as a friend, Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra)'s Deputy Chief Patrol Hashim Djojohadikusumo said.
"Prabowo regards the Jokowi-JK pair as a friend with a different political vision," he told newsmen after witnessing the Federation of Plantation Workers Unions (FSPP)'s declaration to support the Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa pair here on Friday.
When the two presidential candidates attended the election number draw at the General Election Commission (KPU) headquarters on June 1, Prabowo mentioned the names of a number of important leaders, including Joko "Jokowi" Widodo in his speech.
Jokowi, on the other hand, did not mention Prabowo's name when he delivered his speech. He also did not mention Prabowo's name in his speech at the declaration of a peaceful election, organized by KPU on June 3. On that occasion, Prabowo again mentioned Jokowi's name in his speech.
"Prabowo's good manners have never changed. He does not regard a political rival as his enemy. Don't make a political rival a personal problem, because he is not an enemy," Hashim said.
Probowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa and Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla are the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs, who will compete in the July 9 presidential election in Indonesia.
During the election number draw at the KPU headquarters on Sunday, the Prabowo-Hatta pair got number 1 on the ballot papers, while their opponents received number 2 for the presidential election.
The Prabowo-Hatta pair is supported by the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra), the National Mandate Party (PAN), the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), the Golkar Party, the United Development Party (PPP), and the Crescent and Star Party (PBB), while the Jokowi-Kalla pair is supported by five political parties.
They comprise the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), the National Democratic Party (Nasdem), the National Awakening Party (PKB), the People's Conscience Party (Hanura), and the Indonesian Justice and Unity Party (PKPI).
