Jakarta (Antara Babel) - Deputy chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Adnan Pandu Praja said the anti-graft body was indeed allowed to supervise the Transjakarta corruption case, and it will do it.
However, he called on the people here on Tuesday to avoid drawing premature conclusions about the case.
He noted that the case had so far been handled by police and the Attorney General's Office (AGO). The AGO had been holding Udar Pristono, the former head of Jakarta's transportation service, along with another suspect, former director of the Agency of Technology Assessment and Application Prawoto, in connection with the case.
"The KPK was already handling the Transjakarta bus procurement case when the AGO named Udar a suspect. Based on our agreement with the AGO and police, if either of them was involved in a case, then the KPK will not get involved in it," he pointed out.
Deputy House Speaker Fadli Zon said that based on a complaint lodged by Rachmawati Soekarnoputri on October 9, 2014, the House of Representatives (DPR) will summon the KPK and AGO and seek their clarification and explanation regarding the case.
In the complaint personally received by Fadli Zon, Rachmawati has accused President-elect Joko Widodo of involving in the Transjakarta case and also possessing bank accounts abroad.
Regarding the allegation about foreign accounts, Pandu Praja said, "not a single account under the name of Jokowi (Joko Widodo) was found abroad. We also checked with the Center of Financial Analysis and Reporting (PPATK) if it could follow the case. However, the PPATK said there was no such case to follow. So, the matter is now clear," he pointed out.
Citing the allegation, Rachmawati, who is the sister of former president Megawati Soekanoputri, has sought the cancellation of the inauguration of President-elect Joko Widodo scheduled for October 20.
Rachmawati had supported Prabowo Subianto in the presidential election on July 9.
