Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung (Antara Babel) - Sate owned tin mining company PT Timah denied statement by its workers, that its performance has declined in the past three years.
"It was not true. Improvement has been recorded by the company as indicated by an increase in its net profit from year to year," its president director Sukrisno said.
Sukrisno pointed to an audit report by international auditor Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PWC).
Based on the report, the net profit of the company rose from Rp431.589 billion in 2012, to Rp580.57 billion in 2013 and to Rp637.954 billion in 2014.
Its operating profit increased from Rp650.892 billion in 2012 to Rp829.052 billion in 2013 and to Rp925.099 billion in 2014.
"The 2015 performance of the company is still being audited. Hopefully it would be wrapped up before the end of this month," Sukrisno said.
He regretted the company's workers had issued unfounded statement about its performance.
The statement of the protesting workers last week had worried investors and the shareholders of the company, he said.
"We have used PWC, which has international reputation as an independent reputation, to guarantee that the result of the auditing is credible," he said.
