Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung (Antara Babel)- A flood triggered by incessant heavy rains, again hit Pangkalpinang, after the capital of Bangka Belitung Province was paralyzed by a major inundation on February 9.
"We just recovered from a flood disaster last month, and it's flooded again," Anggo, a resident of Parit Lala area, said here, Tuesday.
Anggo said his family members and other Parit Lala inhabitants were evacuated to safer places as the floodwaters reached a height of up to one's waist.
Early February, activities at the business center in Pangkalpinang came to a standstill following torrential rains for several days, leading to the area being inundated in three-meter-high floodwaters.
The floodwaters inundated the local offices and trading malls.
