Makassar (Antara Babel) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated a traditional market in Maros District, South Sulawesi Province, on Thursday.
The president arrived here the day before to attend the main even of the 2017 National Cooperative Day commemoration, to inaugurate the groundbreaking of several wind power plant projects, and to inaugurate the traditional market in Maros.
South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo stated that he had made preparations for the inauguration of the market by the head of state.
The president is also expected to review the the readiness for the inauguration of the market in Maros Baru Sub-District.
In addition, the regional government also hoped the head of state would visit several locations, such as the Fly Over Bridge of the Barru-Bone lane, Trans Sulawesi Railway Project, Makassar New Port and the Engineering College of the Unhas University.
Earlier on Wednesday evening, the president took a few minutes of his time to greet a number of Makassar residents who were in shopping mall along the Boulevard street.
Later on Thursday, the president and his entourage will leave Makassar for Balikpapan for a work visit to East Kalimantan Province.
