Pangalpinang, Bangka Belitung (Antara Babel) - The Governor of Bangka Belitung Islands, Erzaldi Rosman Djohan, will build 14 large-scale cold storage to accommodate the catch and cultivation of the local fishermen.
"Hopefully, by 2022 there will be 14 units of cold storage in every district and city," Erzaldi said here on Tuesday.
He explained that the 14 cold storage units will be built in Bangka, Central Bangka, West Bangka, South Bangka, Belitung, East Belitung districts and Pangkalpinang city.
"Each district and city should have two cold storages to maintain the quality of traditional fisherman fish catches, maintain their stocks and keep the stability of fish prices in market," he said.
According to Erzaldi building cold storage is one of the administration's efforts in empowering the economy of the local fishermen to be more prosperous and independent.
