Jakarta (Antara Babel) - The Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) held a technical coordination meeting at its office here on Thursday to design strategies to win the Prabowo-Hatta presidential ticket in the election scheduled on July 9.

"The meeting will discuss campaign programs that will be immediately carried out by Prabowo and Hatta Rajasa. The two are slated to visit several regions and perhaps firstly to East Kalimantan on May 24," noted the party's Deputy General Chairman Fadli Zon.

At the meeting attended by several party functionaries, roles and responsibilities will be assigned and the current national situation will be discussed with regard to creating appropriate strategies to assure Prabowo-Hatta's victory.

Fadli stated that Gerindra will also coordinate with all regional chapters to integrate their campaign teams with those of other supporting parties in the national campaign team.

"We have six parties and also community figures that can be part of the national campaign team," Fadli remarked.

Former constitutional court chief justice Mahfud MD, who has been appointed to head the party's national success team, will reportedly hold a meeting on Thursday afternoon.

Fadli Zon emphasized that the meeting will be organized to finalize the structure of the success team for Prabowo-Hatta.

Prabowo and Hatta will compete against Jokowi and Jusuf Kalla in the presidential election scheduled on July 9.

The Prabowo-Hatta duo is supported by six political parties, while the Jokowi-JK pair is backed by four parties.

Prabowo is a former army special forces commander and currently, the chief patron of Gerindra, while Hatta Rajasa is the general chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) and the former chief economic minister.

Jokowi is currently the Jakarta governor and a cadre of the Indonesia Democratic Party Struggle (PDIP), and Jusuf Kalla, popularly known by the initials JK, is a noted businessman and former vice president.
