"We will make 2015 the year of awakening for regional tourism by developing and optimizing many tourist attractions here," Central Bangka Culture and Tourism Department Chief Zaidi stated here on Monday.
He explained that the tourism sector in the district will be developed by mapping potential tourist attractions and constructing their supporting infrastructure.
"We will continue to optimize the existing tourism sites and develop new ones," he emphasized, adding that the Central Bangka district government will develop its cultural and marine tourism.
He noted that geographically, Central Bangka comprises coastal areas with high marine tourism potential in addition to historic and cultural tourism.
