Denpasar, Bali, Dec 31 (ANTARA Babel) - More tourists from Russia have come to Bali for a year-end holiday, according to a tourist guide, Made Putrawan.
Putrawan who is tasked of serving mostly Russian tourists said they mostly came by chartered plane ahead of the end of the year through January and stayed in international hotels in Nusa Dua, Jimbaran or Ubud.
He said Russian tourists enjoyed touring tourist objects very much as well as cultural performances and local traditional rituals.
According to the local tourism service, the number of Russian tourists coming directly from Russia reached 7,867 in October, up from 3,648 in the months before.
In total the number of tourists from Russia to Bali from January to October this year was recorded at 60,472 or 2.54 percent of total foreign tourists to the island reaching 2,381,990.
The number of Russian tourists to Bali has risen significantly this year from only around 5,000 a month last year to 6,000.
Russia was once recorded to be among the ten biggest suppliers of tourists to Bali competing with Britain, the US and Taiwan.
