"Today, there are 12 additional COVID-19 patients in Pangkalpinang 11 and 1 person in Bangka," said Secretary of the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Babel Mikron Antariksa in Pangkalpinang, Thursday.

He said that with the addition of confirmed cases of COVID-19, the number of active patients rose to 31 people spread across Pangkalpinang City 14, Bangka eight, Belitung five, Central Bangka four patients. Meanwhile, West Bangka, South Bangka and East Belitung regencies have no active COVID-19 patients.

"Currently, the number of patients recovering from COVID-19 has also increased by two and there have been zero deaths," he said.

According to him, in anticipating a surge in cases of transmission and spread of COVID-19, the regional government will continue to activate 80 isoter locations with a capacity of 943 beds for COVID-19 patients, spread across 38 units in Belitung, East Belitung 24, West Bangka nine, Bangka five, Central Bangka two. , Pangkalpinang and South Bangka have one isoter each.

In addition, his party again intensified the socialization of the implementation of health protocols and mass COVID-19 vaccinations, to increase the community's resistance to this corona virus.

"Currently, the bed occupancy rate is at 0.00 percent isoter, because COVID-19 patients prefer to self-isolate," he said.

The head of the East Belitung COVID-19 Task Force, Ikhwan Fahrozi, said the local government continues to intensify vaccinations to maintain East Belitung's zero COVID-19 cases.

"Vaccination activities have been carried out on a massive scale to touch people in remote villages, in order to increase the community's immunity from this corona virus," he said.
