Jayapura, Papua (Antara Babel) - A Jayawijaya Dirgantara plane skidded off a runway at Wamena airport on Saturday afternoon, though no injuries were reported.
The aircraft overshot the runway while heading to Apron 2 at the airport, spokesman of the Papua provincial police, Snr. Comr. Pudjo, said.
He noted that the plane, carrying a variety of cargoes, had successfully landed on the runway. But when it turned around to reach the apron to load and unload cargoes, a hydraulic line on its front wheel had apparently broken.
Based on a preliminary investigation, the hydraulic line cracked when the plane landed.
The cause of the broken line remains unknown, he said.
