Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, on Monday said that the creative economy sector can support the national economy and help achieve the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision.
After the 2023 IndoFringe@Sekolah awards ceremony here, the minister noted that Indonesia's creative economy occupies the third position in the world, making it a significant resource for boosting state income.
"Our creative economy is the third-largest in the world in terms of its contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP)," he said at the 2024 IndoFringe@Sekolah launch.
The creative economy sector can help realize Indonesia's vision of becoming an advanced country by strengthening the quality of human resources.
The strategy is expected to help creative economy actors earn a higher income.
"It is the time for us to strengthen human resources in the creative economy so they can get bigger income," he said.
According to Uno, human resource strengthening could help realize the target income per capita of US$25 thousand to US$30 thousand.
"We can achieve the target of US$25 thousand to US$30 thousand per capita, which will be supported not only by the green economy, the blue economy, digital economy, but also the creative economy," he said.
The ministry is also targeting a contribution of Rp1,300 trillion to the country's foreign exchange from the creative economy sector and national GDP contribution of up to eight percent, he informed.
"By the end of this year, (the creative economy sector) is expected to give Rp1,300 trillion (to foreign exchange reserves), create 25 million jobs, while the export target is US$28 billion, and the (targeted) contribution to GDP is 7.8 to 8 percent," he expounded.
