Pangkalpinang, Babel, Feb 10 (Antara) - The province of Bangka-Belitung (Babel) National Narcotics Board (BNN) plans to conduct urine testing on high school students in a bid to curb drug abuse in the province, according to local BNN spokesman Hanopan.
"We are cooperating with the Pangkalpinang City Education Office to conduct urine test on high school students," Hanopan said here on Tuesday.
He explained that urine test is being conducted on students to prevent drug circulation in schools and to identify students who use drugs.
Besides urine testing, he revealed that the students will also be educated about the dangers of drug abuse that can affect their mental, spiritual, and physical well-being.
"We hope that these efforts can suppress the number of drug users among students that continues to increase from year to year," he noted.
