Jakarta (Antara Babel) - Center for the Study of Trisakti (PKT)'s executive director Fahmi Habcy criticized Prabowo's and Hatta Rajasa's vision and mission of making Indonesia independent of foreign debt at the end of their tenure in 2019.
"The success team should have asked Hatta Rajasa, who served as coordinating minister for economics of Indonesia for five years, why Indonesia's foreign debt continues to grow," he said here on Friday.
This promise was stated on the book "Building a Unified Indonesia, Sovereign, Fair, Prosperous, and Dignity," which was submitted to the General Election Commission several days ago.
Fahmi said Indonesia's debt jumped 50 percent from 2009, up from 1.590 trillion to 2.200 trillion as of September 2013.
He also revealed that the next president will inherit economic policy failures, such as the threat of electricity shortages, high imports of fishery and agricultural products, and a decline in the exchange rate.
"The public can determine the presidential and vice-presidential candidates who have the spirit of anti-debt, as we can see from the financial profiles of the presidential and vice presidential candidates from the wealth reports submitted to KPK," he said.
The presidential and vice-presidential election of July 9, 2014, features two pairs of candidates for the president and the vice president, Prabowo-Hatta Rajasa and Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla.
