Babel To Have Drug Rehabilitation Center

Muntok, Bangka Island (Antara Babel) - The Bangka-Belitung (Babel) provincial administration is set to establish a drug rehabilitation center for victims of drug abuse, an official said.


"We have discussed the matter with the Babel provincial health department, which will soon set up a drug rehabilitation center," Provincial Narcotics Board Chief Senior Commissioner Setyo Raharjo stated here on Friday.


He explained that a drug rehabilitation center was necessary to reduce the growing number of drug abusers in the province.


According to him, the Babel province, which comprises many small islands, has numerous entry points for drug trafficking.


"The presence of a drug rehabilitation center in every region is necessary to prevent the circulation of drugs as well as to reduce the number of abusers, in line with Law No.35/2009 on narcotics," Raharjo noted.
