Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung (Antara Babel) - The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) supported Bangka Belitung Archipelago Province to strengthen bureaucracy reform.

Trankmann said a strong bureaucracy is vital to reducing poverty, reducing inequality, promoting investments, and providing goods and services that society needs.
"I believe Bangka Belitung is now growing, but to sustain this growth there will need to be high levels of innovation, investments in human capital formation, increasing competitiveness and improved productivity, and a strong and effective bureaucracy can play a lead facilitating this transition," she said.
Across the globe, UNDP's Public Administration Reform Program supports countries on four mains issues related to public administration.
"These areas include civil service reform, increasing the efficiency and responsiveness of policy making systems, reforming government, and reforming the management system of public sector revenue and expenditure," she said.
Furthermore Trankmann said the Government of Indonesia has been taking positive steps to strengthen its bureaucracy since 2010 with the issuance of a Presidential Decree which contains detailed strategic plans on bureaucracy reform for period 2010-2025.
